Special coasters attach the planes to the track, and when you trigger the fair start, they go flying along the track, into barrel rolls (thanks to twists in the track), and even through a tunnel, re-creating a climactic moment in the movie. A flag at the end of the track leaves no doubt as to which plane wins the race.
